Energifællesskab Avedøre A.M.B.A are pushing the limit of what is possible in Denmark.

As the first and largest energy community in Denmark participants in Avedøre can now share produced electricity with each other when there is simultaneity. Simultaneity is when the production and consumption happens within the same 15 minute interval, and therefore can be sold to each other at a fixed price. This allows the electricity consumers and producers in the area to get a better average price on their electricity. While saving money into the energy community, that later can be invested into the community, e.g. by establishing more renewable electricity production, further improving the business case for the participants, creating a compounding effect.

Keima is proud of being one of the suppliers who makes the energy community functional. Keima creates the settlements and final bills in which participants can see their consumption from the energy community, in moments with simultaneity and from the spot market for the remaining consumption. The participants who have electricity production can also see how much they have sold to the energy community and how much they have sold to the spot market.

This means that a participant still only gets one electricity statement with all their electricity related billing information included. As a participant in an energy community their statement simply contains a few more lines, clearly stating how much they have consumed from- or produced to the energy community.

Energifællesskab Avedøre is managed by EBO Consult who have specialised themselves in helping energy communities move from idea to realisation and running administration.

Besides the economical benefit, energy communities have the potential to reduce the load on the grid, since production and consumption can be established and optimized locally. This can potentially give further economical benefits as well, since this may lead to reduced transportation tariffs.

As a whole Energifællesskab Avedøre won the Green Power Price 2025 given by Green Power Denmark, recognizing the effort and potential impact it can have on the energy transition.
